GUIDE RIGHT INITIATIVE

  • Career exploration
  • College application support
  • Vocational guidance
  • Academic coaching
  • Community service projects
Program StatusFlagship

Guide Right was conceived in 1922 by Leon W. Steward to address the problem of Black youth underachievement and it remains as relevant today as it was then.

As the national service program of Kappa Alpha Psi, Guide Right encompasses mentoring, college preparatory programs, and tutoring.

Locally, our Richfield-Bloomington chapter delivers vocational guidance, academic support, and one-on-one mentorship to young men across the Twin Cities.

The purpose is straightforward: provide awareness, education, and exposure to professions and career options — while offering scholarship support for talented students from low-income families.

Kappa League was founded February 12, 1969 by the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi at Alain LeRoy Locke High School. More than five decades later, it remains the fraternity's most impactful youth program.

Kappa League is a program for the educational, occupational, and social guidance of male students in grades 6th–12th.

The primary goal is to help young men achieve worthy goals for themselves and make constructive contributions to their community when they assume leadership roles.

In Richfield-Bloomington, our Kappa Leaguers meet regularly for leadership workshops, etiquette and professional development training, college tours, and community service while being guided every step of the way by Brotherhood mentors who have walked the same path.
